Christian Sievers, Managing Director, LAIC Vermögensverwaltung GmbH
You recently had your products listed on Xetra. Why was Xetra chosen?
With Xetra, we chose the leading ETF trading venue in Germany and one of the most important ETF marketplaces in Europe. Xetra offers strong visibility among both institutional and retail investors, an excellent trading infrastructure, and high liquidity. In addition, it enables efficient and transparent exchange trading with tight spreads. For us, listing our ETFs on Xetra was therefore the logical step to make them accessible to a broad investor base.
What characterizes your newly listed products? What distinguishes them from other ETF issuers?
Our unique selling proposition lies in the combination of the ETF wrapper and our AI-based investment approach. While many ETFs passively replicate traditional index strategies, we use artificial intelligence and data-driven models to make investment decisions systematically and actively manage portfolios. Our goal is to identify market changes at an early stage and dynamically adapt portfolios to evolving market conditions. As a result, investors benefit from the transparency, tradability, and cost efficiency of an ETF while gaining access to an innovative active investment strategy.
In your opinion, which major trends will shape the ETF landscape in the coming years?
We see three key trends in particular:
Growth of Active ETFs:
An increasing number of investors are looking for solutions that go beyond simple index replication. Active ETFs combine the advantages of the ETF structure with active management and are therefore expected to continue gaining importance.
Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics:
The use of AI and large-scale data analysis will fundamentally transform the investment industry. Data-driven decision-making processes are set to play an even greater role in the future.
Customization of Investment Solutions:
Investors increasingly expect strategies tailored to specific objectives, risk profiles, or investment themes. As a result, the ETF universe will continue to become more differentiated and specialized.
Overall, we expect ETFs to continue gaining market share, with active, technology-enabled, and innovative strategies likely to drive the next phase of growth.
Thank you very much for the interview!
